INTRODUCTION

Toxicology Services Inc. (TSI), provides on- or off-site expertise in the planning, conduct, reporting, and filing of outsourced toxicology, safety pharmacology, PK/ADME and bioanalytical studies to small and mid-sized pharmaceutical companies.

TSI’s areas of greatest expertise are in general (acutes through chronics) and genetic toxicology, reproductive toxicology and in pharmacokinetics (PK). TSI can plan, conduct, and insure accurate reporting of nonclinical studies in rodent and non-rodent species.  TSI also excels at designing and conducting PK/TK studies and analyses (using WinNonlin), and at writing GLP-compliant reports.

BACKGROUND

Born and raised in Chapel Hill, NC, USA, Mr. Thomas B. Grizzle, founder and president of TSI, received his BS degree in Natural Sciences from Campbell University in 1982, and an MS degree in Physiology from NC State University in 1986.  He was boarded by the American Board of Toxicology in 2003 and was recertified in 2009.

Mr. Grizzle has over a dozen years of combined experience as laboratory animal technician, reproductive toxicology laboratory supervisor, and as a pharmacokinetic study director in the clinical research organization (CRO) industry.  He also has approximately six years of experience as a toxicologist in two small pharmaceutical companies, where he gained drug development experience for a variety of human indications.  Since 2002, Mr. Grizzle has been a self-employed toxicologist.  Mr. Grizzle has extensive knowledge of the CRO industry, and possesses expertise in designing, placing, managing, and reporting outsourced GLP-compliant toxicology, safety pharmacology, ADME and bioanalytical studies.

Mr. Grizzle is a member of the Society of Toxicology, American College of Toxicology, NC Society of Toxicology, the Mid-Atlantic Reproduction and Teratology Society (MARTA), and the Roundtable of Toxicology Consultants.
